Availability
Menu Bar Collapse is coming soon. Public download information will appear on the product page. The guidance below also helps people testing an early version.
Getting started
- Launch Menu Bar Collapse. It runs from the menu bar rather than a Dock icon.
- When prompted, allow Accessibility access in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
- Open the app’s configuration window. Choose which items stay visible and which should be hidden.
- Select Apply & Hide. Use the menu bar control or Control–Option–M to reveal your hidden items.
Menu and button labels can vary between versions.
Why Accessibility access?
The app uses it to identify, arrange, and activate menu bar controls. Without permission, it cannot manage those items. The app does not require Screen Recording access.
You can turn Accessibility access off at any time in System Settings. Quit the app first if you want it to stop managing your menu bar.
An item is missing or will not move
- Make sure the app that owns the item is running and that its menu bar icon is enabled.
- Confirm that Menu Bar Collapse still has Accessibility access.
- Refresh the configuration window, then apply your choices again.
- Clock and the main Control Center control are fixed by macOS. Other system items can have movement restrictions.
Reveal behavior can differ by macOS version, display layout, and camera notch. If the issue continues, email us with your macOS version and the item affected.
The shortcut does not respond
Confirm that Menu Bar Collapse is running, then try its menu bar control. If the control works, another app or a macOS keyboard setting may be using Control–Option–M. Include that detail when contacting support.
What to include in a support request
Your app version, macOS version, Mac model or display setup, and the steps that led to the problem are usually enough to start. A screenshot is optional; remove private information before sharing it.
Please do not send passwords, authentication codes, or unrelated personal information. The app does not automatically upload diagnostic reports to us.
Settings and privacy
Your hidden-item selections and app settings are stored locally. Uninstalling the app may leave macOS preferences behind; contact us if you need help removing saved settings.
