Your menu bar is personal. Here’s what the app accesses, what stays on your Mac, and what happens if you contact us.

The short version
Menu Bar Collapse processes menu bar information on your Mac. It does not send your item selections or usage information to Scaile Studios, and it includes no advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking SDKs. If you choose to email us, we receive the information you send.
Who we are and what this covers
Scaile Studios LLC develops Menu Bar Collapse. This policy covers the Mac app, its product and support pages on scailestudios.com, and related support correspondence. Other Scaile Studios products have their own privacy practices.
For questions, contact hello@scailestudios.com.
Information processed on your Mac
The app identifies running applications and menu bar items so it can show your choices and manage their positions. This can include app names, icons and identifiers, menu bar labels, control positions, and window or menu state used to check that an action worked.
The app saves your hidden-item selections, its own menu bar positions, and related settings in local macOS preferences. It can also read relevant macOS menu bar preferences to identify system items. This information is used for the app’s menu bar functionality and is not transmitted to us.
Accessibility permission
macOS Accessibility permission allows apps broad access to interface information and controls. Menu Bar Collapse uses this permission to find, move, and activate menu bar items and to check the resulting menu or panel state. It can generate mouse actions to carry out the menu bar changes you request.
The app does not use this access to record your typing or capture screen images. It does not request Screen Recording permission. You can revoke Accessibility access in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility; doing so prevents the app from managing menu bar items.
No app account, analytics, or advertising
Menu Bar Collapse does not require an account and does not operate an app backend. It does not send app telemetry or automatic crash reports to Scaile Studios, and it does not include advertising or analytics services.
Apple and macOS may separately process purchase, download, or diagnostic information under your Apple settings and Apple’s privacy policies. Apps whose menu bar items you open have their own privacy practices; this policy does not govern those apps.
When you contact support
If you email us, we receive your email address, the message, and any information or attachments you choose to send, such as your app version, macOS version, or a screenshot. We use this information to respond to you, troubleshoot issues, and maintain relevant support records.
Our email service providers process that correspondence to deliver and store messages. We do not sell support information or use it for advertising. Please send only what is needed to explain the problem and remove private information from screenshots.
Visiting these web pages
The product, support, and privacy pages do not include analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or cookies set by our page code. The website is hosted by Vercel, which may process routine request information, such as an IP address, requested URL, and browser information, to deliver and protect the website. See Vercel’s Privacy Notice.
Visiting the website or sending email is separate from the app’s local menu bar processing.
Retention and your choices
Local app preferences remain on your Mac until you change or remove them. Uninstalling the app may not remove those preferences. You can quit the app, revoke Accessibility permission, or contact us for help removing saved settings.
We retain support correspondence only as needed to handle the request, maintain relevant support history, and meet applicable obligations. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information you have sent us by emailing hello@scailestudios.com. We may need to verify the request and retain information where required. We cannot access the app preferences stored on your Mac.
Sharing and processing by providers
We share support or website information with service providers only as needed for email delivery, hosting, security, and support operations, or where required by law. Those providers may process information in countries other than yours. The app does not upload its local menu bar data to these providers.
Children’s privacy
The app does not require an account or collect personal information through its normal operation. It is a general-purpose utility and is not specifically directed to children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through support, contact us so we can address it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page and its revision date if our practices change. If a future app version introduces data collection, we will update the policy and applicable App Store disclosures and request consent where required before that collection begins.
